About Us

Our Story

The Long Beach Black Worker Center (LBBWC) is here to make change by shining the spotlight on discriminatory practices within laws, wages, career pathways, worker intimidation and the traumatic effects of bias in our community.

We are a community-centered group of individuals from all backgrounds within the Long Beach community, ensuring pathways and opportunities that are free of discrimination in the workplace to create stability, quality lifestyle and promotion for all.

Birthed out of the struggle and resilience of freedom fighting movements, the Long Beach Black Worker Center is a community-built organization that provides support, education and research for Black workers in Long Beach.

LBBWC organizes efforts to end discrimination in the workplace for workers by building Black Worker power, protecting Black Worker rights and addressing systemic anti-blackness in the workplace.
